Men's Curry Nights @ Frome Football Club - Weds 7-9pm - Future dates:

Weds 7 November. Speaker: Rt Rev Mike Hill who recently retired as Bishop of Bristol.

Both evenings are full of promise on many levels.

Sat 18 May 2019 10am-4pm Cheese and Grain.

Although this is a long way off, PLEASE mark the date in your diaries. It is the first regional gathering of the Men-United groups in Bath, Trowbridge, Frome and Radstock. The plan is to provide an inspirational day of teaching, testimony and worship to inspire local men on their journey of faith. Linvoy Primus MBE, a former professional footballer and now an engaging speaker is currently booked and hopefully Mike Hill will be the main speaker. It would be a truly wonderful thing to fill the heart of Frome with prayer and praise flowing from the C&G. Do please pray for the planning of the day which is in the hands of members from each Men-United group.

The Men's Curry Night Programme for 2018 may be found by clicking here. Please email John Samways at john.samways28@btinternet.com to reserve a place for any of the events.

Refugees and Frome

Rob and Ann Taylor are supporting one of the Syrian Refugee families to settle in Frome. They are doing wonderfully well and starting to settle. The family consists of Mum, Dad and 2 girls under 5 years. Mum is now pregnant and expecting a baby in April. At present they live in a 2 bedroom flat, which will be too small when the baby comes. We are therefore looking for a larger property with either 2 large or 3 bedrooms. Would it be possible to put the word out in your churches to ask if anybody knows of a property that could be rented by the family. We can give more specific details if anybody needs them - please contact robandanntaylor@hotmail.com

The Somerset Faith Audit 2018

Faith and Belief groups across Somerset provide an important level of social support to the community, whether in an urban or rural area. They have a long-standing presence in the community and through this understand their communities.

The Faith Audit 2018 is aiming to:

1. Identify the contribution that Faith and Belief communities/groups make in Somerset

2. To explore the relationship that Faith and Belief communities have with local government

3. To produce a database of all Faith and Belief groups in Somerset and the activities they offer

From the responses, a series of recommendations will be concluded with the aim of feeding these back either, through the SEOG newsletter in the autumn or through the ‘Meet the Leaders’ event planned for 9th October 2018 at the YMCA in Bridgwater. Please contact angela.farmer@sedgemoor.gov.uk if you like to attend this event.

If you wish to have a paper copy of the Audit or need any help or advice then please get in contact with angela.farmer@sedgemoor.gov.uk.

We have tried to give a broad range of coverage to Faith and Belief groups in Somerset. Please pass onto colleagues and friends as well.

The closing date will be the 31st August 2018.
